“The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.” Isaiah 52:10
God is a Sovereign God.
Many things happening in the world right now is beyond what we can humanly comprehend. It is beyond something we can grasp and explain. The harder we try to get answers, the more it complicates our mind.
We have to understand that there are things in this world that only God can provide answers. However, the challenge is not receiving the answers from God but understanding it. The Bible clearly says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
To understand whats happening is to understand what Sovereignty of God means. Sovereign is define as: “absolute right to do all things according to his own good pleasure“, “God is the supreme authority and all things are under His control.” Everything happens for a reason and it will always fulfill the purposes of God. It will be hard to accept God’s ways in tough times but surely, everything will turn out beautiful in His time.
It is necessary for us to accept that GOD’S WAY IS PERFECT.
Psalms 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect…”
In this scriptural text in Isaiah, the Israelites experienced a huge turn of events from being the most powerful nation to becoming an object of scorn of the nations up to the point of becoming a slave nation.
It never looks perfect when there is poverty, persecution, insult & slavery. It is so easy to question, “Is God in control?“, “Is He really mighty to save?”. Though it most probably is our fault why we are suffering, but it is so easy to put the blame in God even if it was never His fault.
This is somehow similar to what we are currently experiencing throughout the world. There are famine all around, plagues of all kinds, rumors of wars, nations rising against nations & sickness that cannot be cured. What is the root cause of all these? SIN & GODLESSNESS.
“ For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written: None is righteous, no, not one;
No one understands;
No one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
No one does good, not even one.
Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.
The venom of asps is under their lips.
Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.
Their feet are swift to shed blood;
In their paths are ruin and misery,
And the way of peace they have not known.
There is no fear of God before their eyes.” ROMANS 3:9-18
One thing we have to remember, GOD IS A GRACIOUS GOD. We may have sinned and grieved our Holy God, but even all our sins combined can never separate us from the love of God.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
GOD’S LOVE WILL ALWAYS BE GREATER THAN OUR SINS!
Instead of doubting the promises of God, this is a crucial moment to activate our faith and remind ourselves that our GOD IS A FAITHFUL & PROMISE-KEEPING GOD.
From the very beginning until now, God is in the business of SAVING LIVES. He did it before, He will do it now, He will never stop doing it again & again.
Once again, He will prove who He really is and what He can do.
Put your hopes! In the midst of the current crisis, “the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10
GOD IS IN CONTROL. GOD IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!
“…but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer. Isaiah 54:8
